Treating a Variety of Sleep Related Issues Insomnia

Dr. Billmann diagnoses and treats a variety of sleep-related issues. While insomnia is the primary focus, his cognitive behavioral therapy programs help patients with:

  • Chronic Insomnia – Difficulty falling or staying asleep or having non-restorative sleep on most nights for at least a month
  • Circadian rhythm sleep disorders – Disruptions in a person’s circadian rhythm, or a person’s “body clock”. Circadian rhythm disorders may be caused by factors such as shift work, pregnancy, time zone changes, medications and more.
  • Hypersomnia – Excessive sleepiness, as evidenced by prolonged sleep, difficulty maintaining an alert awake state during the day or undesired daytime sleep episodes.
  • Parasomnias – Disruptive sleep-related disorders that are characterized by undesirable physical or verbal behaviors, such as nightmares, walking or talking during sleep.

Sleep is a vital part of our daily lives, yet 70 million Americans suffer from a sleep disorder and approximately 95 percent of those affected remain undiagnosed and untreated.
